Cregger celebration

95th birthday

Mrs. Marie Catron Cregger was honored by her family and friends on the occasion of her 95th birthday, Saturday, November 11, 1995, at Morningside Manor where she recently moved after having lived on West Cleveland Avenue in Vinton, Va. for the past 65 years. Mrs. Cregger was born at Crockett, Va., November 10, 1900, the daughter of the late Charles Floyd Catron and Merica Frances Cline Catron. She is the widow of the late Charles Roy Cregger who retired from Norfolk Southern Railway East End Shops. They were married in 1923 while both were employed by the American Viscose Company on Ninth Street, S.E., Roanoke, Va. Her living children and/or spouses are Edna C. and Lewis D. Clark, Kathleen Cregger Gwyer, June Cregger Lucas, Frank A. and Susan B. Cregger and Geri Prather Cregger. Two sons, Charles Roy Cregger, Jr. and Robert H. Cregger are deceased. She has twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She is an active member of the North Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she serves and spends every Wednesday in the Community Service Center on Oxford Avenue in the Health Food Store. Despite three hip joint replacements, two glaucoma surgeries and other age related problems, Mrs. Cregger is very active physically and mentally. We all wish her many more ``happy birthdays''.
