ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

New-car dealers had a marginally better October, but auto registrations are still running behind last year's.

In the Roanoke Valley, 7,023 cars were registered through the first 10 months, compared with 7,833 a year ago. That's a decline of 810 registrations, or 10.3 percent.

In October, 660 cars were registered by valley dealers, down 1.5 percent from 670 in September. But the figure was up 5.9 percent from 623 registrations in October 1994.
