Selling poinsettias

BLACKSBURG - The Blacksburg Athletic Booster Club is selling poinsettias to raise money for uniforms, equipment, field maintenance, and a new concession stand at the football field. Poinsettias are $10 each and orders must be prepaid. Mail check to Nancy Aden, 550 Wood Haven Court, Blacksburg, Va. 24060. Poinsettias can be picked up Saturday, Dec. 2, from 8 a.m. until noon at Blacksburg High School.

Benefit dance

BLACKSBURG - The Montgomery County Christmas Store Dance will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, 8-11 p.m., in the Commonwealth Ballroom, Squires Student Center at Virginia Tech. The Ken Epperly Band will provide music. Dessert and cash bar will be available. Tickets are $40 for couples and $30 for students. Signing books

CHRISTIANSBURG - Two Virginia authors will sign books at Waldenbooks at New River Valley Mall Friday, Nov. 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Elizabeth Massie will autograph her book series, "American Chills." She will also sign copies of the anthology, "Great Writers & Kids Write Spooky Stories."

Alice Leonhardt, also known as Alison Hart, will autograph her book series, "Riding Academy."
