LYNCHBURG MAN KILLED IN EARLY MORNING CAR CRASH

A Lynchburg man was killed early Monday when the car he was driving ran off the road and overturned.

State Police dispatchers in Salem said Thomas Monroe Douglass, 45, was driving west on U.S. 460 near Virginia 784 about 6:15 when he apparently lost control of his two-door 1995 Pontiac Firebird.

Douglass, who police say was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
