AILSWORTH, Bernard Edgerton, 92, of Roanoke, formerly of Richmond, died Monday, November 20, 1995. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma B. Ailsworth. He is survived by his son, William Warner Ailsworth, Tampa, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Emily A. and Joel C. Pack, Roanoke; sister, Emily A. Helsabeck, Richmond; two granddaughters, Jennifer Pack Goolsby, Seattle, Wash. and Abigail Leigh Pack, Iowa City, Iowa. He was a long standing member of First Baptist Church, Richmond and a member of the First Baptist Church, Roanoke. Graveside services will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at Washington Memorial Park, Richmond. AYRES, James Hansford, (``Jim''), 61, of Brownsburg, died Sunday, November 19, 1995 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Lexington. Born in Lexington February 15, 1934, he was the son of Mrs. Julia R. Ayres, Brownsburg, and the late Percy Calvin Ayres. Mr. Ayres was retired from Virginia Military Institute Biology Department, and was currently employed by May Brothers, U.S. Mail Contractors of Staunton. He was a member of McElwee/Bethesda Presbyterian Church, where he was a past Deacon and was Chairman of the McElwee Chapel Cemetery, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Surviving besides his mother are his wife, Janis Wade Ayres, Brownsburg; daughter and son-in-law, Kim Ayres and Scott Heslep, Brownsburg; sister and brother-in-law, Naomi Ayres and Mike Harmon, Atlanta, Ga.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Betty Jean Mohler, Lexington; two granddaughters, Julia and Toria Heslep, Brownsburg. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 22, 1995 at 2 p.m. from McElwee Chapel with the Rev. David Dickerson, assisted by Dr. G. P. Whiteley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. CAMPBELL, Alicia Beverly, 39, of Buena Vista, died Sunday, November 19, 1995 in a Lexington hospital. She was born November 7 1956, daughter of Roy Beverly and Frances Southers Beverly. COOK, Linda Kay, 48, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, November 19, 1995 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. Born in Blacksburg, Va., on September 9, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Paul Jones and is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Cooper Jones McGuire, Radford. She was preceded in death by a son, Calvin Lee Cook. She is also survived by her husband, Saford Wayne Cook; a daughter, Vicky Lynn Cook; two sons, Steven Wayne Cook and Stanley Robert Cook; two grandchildren, Daniel Robert Cook and Tabatha Jane Cook, all of Blacksburg; three sisters, Jenny Underwood and Terry Graves, both of Christiansburg, Betty Fox, Annandale; five brothers, Charlie Jones and Timmy Jones, both of Christiansburg, Bobby Jones and Freddy Jones, both of Newport, and Tommy Jones, Blacksburg. COX, George Perry, 76, of Roanoke, died Sunday, November 19, 1995, at his home. He was born December 17, 1918, in Oak Grove, Mo. He served as First Lieutenant, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and retired from C & P Telephone Co. after 35 years service. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and a board member of the Catholic Historical Society of Roanoke Valley. Surviving are his wife, Geraldine Hillas Cox; daughters and sons-in-law, Marilesa C. and Thomas Oliver, Dover, N.H., Georgeanne C. and Sam Santolla, Dayton, Md.; two grandsons, Devin Perry Oliver and Nicholas Samuel Santolla. A prayer service will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 7 p.m. Tuesday, with the funeral Mass at St. Andrew's Catholic Church 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 1995. The Rev. Randy Rule will officiate. FLORA, Mildred F., 85, of Boones Mill, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 19, 1995. The family celebrates the life of Mildred Flora, for she was a beloved mother and left a legacy of love in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. HOLSTON, Dallas Earl, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, November 20, 1995. He was retired from Kroger's with 25 years service. He was a member of Huntington Court United Methodist Church and the Berean Bible Class. He was an avid wood worker. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Viola Bushnell Holston; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Earline and Pat Tabor, Shirley and David Wood; son and daughter-in-law, Dallas and Susan Holston; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. HUELS, Captain (Ret.) U.S.M.C. Walter David, 65, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, November 19, 1995, after a long battle with cancer. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1948, retiring in 1970 after 22 years of honorable service as a Captain. He served during the Korean Conflict, the Panama Canal, and two tours of duty in Viet Nam. His personal decorations include a Silver Star for heroism during combat. He was a recruiter for the U.S. Marine Corps in Roanoke and a past Commandant for the local chapter of Marine Corps League. He was employed with Huff Cook as a regional manager for 21 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Kitty Kidd Huels; daughter, Stephanie Huels-Carter; son-in-law, John O. Carter Jr.; a precious little granddaughter, Rhiannon Kay Huels-Carter; sister, Jean Heizer, Richmond; brother, Richard C. Huels, Knoxville, Tenn; nephew, Ronald S. Ward Sr., Salem; sister-in-law, Mynard Kidd; brother-in-law, Reed Kidd, Kalamazoo and many other special friends. McPEAK, Charlie Avis, 75, of Salem, passed away Sunday, November 19, 1995 in a Roanoke hospital. He was Vice-President of Virginia Construction Supply in Salem and was in highway construction for fifty-seven years. Mr. McPeak was a veteran of World War II. PACK, Karl Clinton Jr., 81, of Narrows, died Monday, November 20,1995 in Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg, Va. Mr. Pack was born April 2, 1914 in Pearisburg, Va. and was a son of the late Karl C. Sr. and Laura Elmore Pack. Mr. Pack was also preceded in death by his son, Karl C. Pack III, and two brothers, Ewell and Ray Pack.Mr. Pack retired from Union Carbide, where he was employed for 32 years. He lived in South Charleston, W.Va. from 1932 to 1974. Mr. Pack was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg and a member of the Giles Lodge #106 A.F. & A.M. He is survived by his wife, Fay Lore Pack of Narrows; one daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Carroll) Kinder of St. Albans, W. Va.; one brother, Sidney Pack of Cross Lanes, W. Va.; three sisters, Sue Vail of Charlottesville, Clara Foster, Roanoke, Juanita (Nita) Carr of Princeton,W. Va.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. PANNELL, Elma Hubbard, 67, of 663 Lee Street, Danville, died Sunday night, November 19, 1995 in Danville Regional Medical Center. Born in Halifax County February 8, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Hal Hubbard and Bessie Barksdale Hubbard. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Halifax County. Mrs. Pannell is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Janie Calloway, Roanoke, and Mrs. Geraldine Redd, Hampton; four sons, James Pannell, Danville, Percy Pannell Jr., George Pannell, and Michael Pannell, all of Roanoke; one brother, Barksdale (Crook) Hubbard, Halifax County; a devoted granddaughter, Tasha Pannell, Roanoke; twelve additional grandchildren and other relatives. PRICE, Allen Lee, 57, of Christiansburg, died Sunday, November 19, 1995 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home, Shawsville. Born in Floyd County on November 23, 1937, he was the son of the late Herman and Ruth Munsey Price. He was a retired construction employee. He was a retired plumber from Dickinson & Cole and was a member of the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by two sons, Arnold and Claude Slagle.
