GRAND JURY INDICTS MAN IN BEATING DEATH

A Pulaski man has been indicted in the January beating death of a man he apparently believed had assaulted his children.

Enoch S. "Buck" Dunagan, 36, of Sutphin Circle, was charged with malicious wounding in late January, but the charge was upgraded to murder in February when Terry Kenneth Morris died from head injuries sustained in a fight.

Police said Morris had been staying with Dunagan when the altercation happened. Dunagan's wife alleged that Morris had assaulted two of the Dunagans' children. It was then, authorities believe, that Dunagan went to a neighbor's house to find Morris.

While the confrontation did not involve weapons, Commander Ed Hogston characterized the fight as "very violent."

A Pulaski County grand jury issued the murder indictment against Dunagan on Monday.
