Dalhouse succeeds Clifford A. Cutchins III, who had been chairman since 1993. Cutchins, retired board chairman of Sovran Financial Corp., a predecessor of NationsBank Corp., is leaving the Shenandoah Life board after 10 years as a member.
Dalhouse is chairman of Roanoke-based First Union National Bank of Virginia. He has been on the Shenandoah Life board since 1991 and has been chairman of its investment committee.
Wolf, of Norfolk, is executive vice president-finance for Norfolk Southern. He has been with NS since 1973, first as a senior tax attorney, then as general tax attorney for the company's predecessor, Norfolk & Western Railway in Roanoke.
He became senior tax counsel for Norfolk Southern in 1983 and held a series of other positions before taking his current post in 1993.
Shenandoah Life is a mutual life insurance company with $680 million in assets and $10 billion worth of insurance in force. The company operates in 20 states.
