CLARK, Garland T., 67, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday morning, November 21, 1995, in a local hospital. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Rosalind Hills Baptist Church, and retired from his family owned business The Regina Motor Lodge in Salem. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Peggy E. (Peg) Clark, Roanoke; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey T. and Lorrie Hall Clark of Midlothian; sister, Marilynn C. Leathers of Scottsdale, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Flowers will be welcomed or donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Roanoke Ronald McDonald House. COX, Clarence Albert, 90, of Rt. 3, Bedford, died Tuesday, November 21, 1995 at his residence. Born in Montgomery County on May 12, 1905, he was the son of the late Dock Jackson Cox and Mary Jane Miles Cox. A retired employee of Lane Company of Altavista, Va., he was a member of Morgans Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Dallie Aliff Cox, a daughter-in-law, Matleen Morgan Cox, a granddaughter, Carolyn Cox Lawhorn and three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Flora Dinkel Cox; three sons, John Albert ( Boat) Cox, of Rt. 3, Bedford, Roy Calvin Cox, Rt. 3, Bedford, Malcolm Ralph (Mack) Cox, of the home; two daughters, Nancy Gaynelle Cox Tuck, Moneta and Jacqueline Lee (Jackie) Cox Woolwine, Rt. 3, Bedford; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-granddaughter; also surviving are three brothers, Marcus James Cox Sr., Moneta, Thomas J. Cox, Stone Mountain, Va., Leonard L. Cox, Bedford; and three sisters, Louise C. Burroughs, Stone Mountain, Va., Gladys C. Obenchain, Bedford, Virginia C. Witt, Stone Mountain, Va.; and many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Mildred Bragg. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 25, 1995, at 2 p.m. at Morgans Baptist Church, Moneta. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. EPPERLY, Nell Graham Cheatwood, of Salem, and a longtime resident of Richfield Nursing Center, passed away Monday, November 20, 1995. She was a lifelong member of First Church of God. Born in Montgomery County, she was a former school teacher in Elliston and homebound teacher in Roanoke County. Survivors include two sons, Alfred W. Cheatwood Jr., Wayne D. Cheatwood; one daughter, Jewell Cheatwood Bryant; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Richardson, Shawsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Hamblin, and a son, Charles (Chuck) Hamblin. Surviving are five daughters, Freda H. Carmichael, Chesapeake, Kae H. Finn, Houston, Texas, Micki H. Viers, Newbern, Carroll H. Shanklin, Riner, and Debbie H. Berry, Christiansburg; two sons, Kenneth E. Hamblin, Jerry K. Hamblin, both of Christiansburg; a sister, Rachael B. Thompson, Blacksburg; one brother, Nelson E. Bond, New Jersey; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Richardson-Horne Chapel, conducted by the Rev. McCORMICK, Claribel Pettyjohn, 85, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, November 21, 1995 at the Roanoke United Meth odist Home. Mrs. McCormick, a native of Bristol, Va., was the widow of the Rev. Charles Albert McCormick Jr., who had been a minister in the Virginia United Methodist Conference. She had retired from the position of Dormitory Hostess at Radford College, now Radford University. She was a graduate of Radford College. She is survived by her daughters, Cora M. Edwards, Towson, Md., Anita M. Pugh and Mary M. Maxwell, both of Richmond; a sister, Lucille Stewart, Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 1995 at Green Hill Cemetery, Buena Vista, with the Rev. Lance K. Knowles officiating. Born in Rockbridge County on August 5, 1908, he was the son of the late Mary Silvey Slagle and Jake Slagle. He was a retired plumber from Dickinson & Cole and was a member of the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by two sons, Arnold and Claude Slagle. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Vest Slagle, Buena Vista; two daughters, Arlene Hayslett and Charlotte Tyler, both of Buena Vista; two sons, Lee Slagle and Robert Slagle, both of Buena Vista; four daughters-in-law, Janey Slagle, Lois Slagle, Mae Slagle and Beverly Slagle; one son-in-law, Karlyos Hayslett; three special grandchildren, Greg Hayslett, Carla VanDerveer and Edward Slagle; 34 additional grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Bessie Wood; one grandson, Bobby Pratt; his brother, Raymond Wood; and sister, Icey Burleigh. He is survived by his children, Norma Pratt, Sue Wood, Freeda and Bill Mills, C.
