George B. and Marie Wright Poindexter celebrated their 50th anniversary on Novemb er 25, 1995. The celebration was held at the Airport Marriott, hosted by their sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Becky of Monticello, Illinois and Gary and LeAnne of Falls Church, Virginia. He is retired from the Norfolk Southern Corp., and she is a retired homemaker. They are active members of Huntington Court United Methodist Church.

Underwood anniversary
Friends and relatives celebrated the 60th wedding anniversary of Elmer and Beulah Underwood at the home of their son in Floyd on October 22, 1995.
\ West anniversary
The children of Betty and Dick West held a surprise reception at Roanoke Country Club to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married November 30, 1945. They have four children, Rick West of Roanoke, Nancy West Shelly of Telford, Pa., Beck West Mackey of Roanoke, and Sara West of Asheville, N. C. The couple also has two sons-in-law, Greg Shelly and Jeff Mackey, and five grandchildren. Thanks to all of their friends for making their evening extra special.
