Concerned that the girl needed her asthma medication, police asked for community help in their search for Wilma H. Cundiff.
Cundiff, 14, was found at 3:30 p.m. at a friend's residence in the McCoy section of Montgomery County, police said.
She walked away from her northeast Blacksburg home following a dispute with a family member and didn't have her medication with her.
Police released her name and picture to the media with the hope that she would be found before she became ill.
Police said Monday that she was in "excellent physical condition."
Cundiff now is in the custody of the Juvenile Court Services Unit.
Police thank those who called with tips.
