Etzler-Merritt

Paula Ann Merritt and Larry W. Etzler, Jr. were married on October 28, 1995, at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory Kandt officiating. The reception was held at the Vinton War Memorial. The maid of honor was Regina Boone, the bridesmaid was Sally Brannan, friends of the bride. Eddie Feather served as best man, and the usher was Gene Hedge, friends of the groom. Chad Dixon, cousin of the bride, served as ringbearer. Krystal Etzler, sister of the groom, attended the guestbook. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown made by her mother. The bride is the daughter of Shireen and Merl Merritt of Troutville. The groom is the son of Helen Firestone Etzler of Troutville, and Larry W. Etzler, Sr., of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and Mary Washington College and is employed by Texas Steakhouse & Saloon-Valley View as a manager. Also a graduate of Lord Botetourt, Larry attended DeVry Institute in Atlanta and is owner of JL Computers. After a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, the couple are residing in Roanoke.

Folden-Schossow

Trina Lynn Schossow and Robert C. Folden, III were married November 11, 1995 in Vinton Baptist Church. The officiating clergyman was Dr. William Ross. The reception was held at Patrick Henry Radisson Hotel-Grand Ballroom.

The maid of honor was Tonya Clifton, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Teresa Cruff, Karen Critzer, and Melissa Greene, all friends of the bride.

The best man was Mark Critzer, friend of the groom. The ushers were Tim Smith, friend of the groom, Bud Folden and Michael Folden, both cousins of the groom. Ringbearers were T. J. and Travis Schossow, nephews of the bride. The guestbook was attended by Tammy Chittum, and the wedding coordinator was Rickie Schossow, sister-in-law of the bride.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schossow of Roanoke. She is employed by Atlantic Mutual Companies.

The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Folden, Jr. of Tabb, Va., is employed by First Union National Bank.

The newlyweds will live in Salem after the wedding cruise to Cozumel, Mexico.

Ford-Corcoran

Jennifer Ann Corcoran and Steven Eric Ford were united in marriage on Saturday, September 30, 1995, at Saint Robert Ballarmine Chapel, George Mason University, Fairfax. The Reverend Father Bob Cilinski celebrated the Nuptial Mass which was followed by a reception at the Country Club of Fairfax.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Jay Corcoran of Fairfax and Mr. and Mrs. Vance Umberger and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Ford of Radford. The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Robert K. Minard, Sr. of Radford.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a candlelight off-the-shoulder gown of georgette shantung with alencon lace and pearls decorating the bodice, skirt, and cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of champagne roses with Queen Anne's lace and ivy.

Maureen Corcoran, sister of the bride, of Blacksburg, was maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Kristin Williams, Kim Williams, and Heather McIntyre, all of Fairfax, and Kristin Ford, sister of the groom, of Radford. They were attired in full-length gowns of plum file trimmed in ivory lace.

Andrew Theokas, New Brunswick, N.J., was best man, and the groom's brothers, Kevin Ford, of Blacksburg, and Brian Ford, of Roanoke, and the bride's brothers, Tim and Ryan Corcoran, of Fairfax, served as groomsmen.

The bride is a graduate of Paul VI High School, Fairfax, and the College of William and Mary with a degree in Sociology. She is employed by Structured Logic, Richmond, as an administrative assistant.

The groom is a graduate of Radford High School, Radford, and the College of William and Mary with an undergraduate degree in Government and a Masters degree in Public Policy from the Thomas Jefferson Program in Public Policy, the College of William and Mary. He is employed as an associate legislative analyst with the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission (J-LARC) for the State of Virginia in Richmond.

Following a honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple is residing in Richmond.

Frantz-Barrett

Christine Marie Barrett and Aubrey Lynn Frantz were married December 2, 1995, in Southview United Methodist Church with Reverend Carol Johnston officiating. The reception was held at La Maison. Kimberly Adams, friend of bride, was maid of honor. Robyn Barrett, sister-in-law of bride, and Dana Frantz, sister-in-law of groom, were bridesmaids. The flower girl was Jessica Frantz, niece of groom. Jerry Frantz, father of groom, served as best man. Ushers were David Barrett, brother of bride, Thomas Frantz, brother of groom, and special usher Jacob Barrett, nephew of bride. The ring bearer was Clint Frantz, brother of groom. Candlelighters were David Barrett, Thomas Frantz and Sara Klosky. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Freddie Barrett, Vinton, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. Michael O'Beirne, Baltimore, Md. She graduated from Salem High School and is employed by Allstate Insurance. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Frantz, Salem, Va. He graduated from Salem High School and is employed by PM Transport, Inc. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke after a cruise to the western Caribbean.

Graham-McBride

Kristine L. McBride and Robert F. Graham were married October 7, 1995 in Westminster Presbyterian Church, Alexandria, Va., with Leslie Klingensmith officiating. The reception was held at The Hermitage Inn, Clifton, Va.

The maids of honor were Beth Ann and Kimberly McBride, sisters of the bride. The bridesmaids were Suzanne Graham, sister of the groom; Kim Allerton and Rebecca Hall, college roommates; and Michele Cash, childhood friend. Flowergirl was Catherine Dawson, friend.

The best man was Dr. Robert F. Graham, father of the groom. The ushers were Drew Graham and David Haddock, cousins of the groom; Ricky Carroll and Andy Brizzolarra, college friends; Brad Dilbeck and Mark Miano, friends. Ringbearer was Will Dawson.

The bride's gown was ivory silk.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel W. McBride of Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Roanoke College and is employed by Philip Bermingham Photography in McLean, Va.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert F. Graham of Radford. He is a graduate of Emory and Henry College, and is employed by Westwood Country Club, Vienna, Va.

The newlyweds will live in Fairfax, Va., after their wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii.

Grinnell-Ferguson

Emily Dawn Ferguson and Bernard Sean Grinnell were united in marriage on December 2, 1995 at Bethel Baptist Church. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. R. Stuart Carlton and assisted by Rev. Leonard L. Southern. The reception was held in the Church Fellowship Hall.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin E. Ferguson of Salem. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Blanch R. Brandau of Salem. Her honorary guests were Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Firebaugh of Elliston.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Grinnell, Jr. of Salem. His honorary guest was Ruby Suthers of Wytheville.

Kim Keffer, friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Denyse Anderson, Kristen Cruey, Paula Kennedy, Valerie Smelser, April Watt, friends of the bride; Felica Huff and Deanna Sheppard, sisters of the groom. Flowergirl was Rachel Grinnell, niece of the groom.

L. O. Grinnell, Jr., father of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were Leithan Grinnell, brother of the groom; Eric Geloneck, Andy Genovese, Frank Thomas, Jr., John Tickle, Chad Willis, friends of the groom; and Jeff Ferguson, brother of the bride. The bride wore a white silk gown from Formal Occasions designed by Alfred Angelo. The scoop neckline and short pouff sleeves were detailed with alencon lace covered with pearls. The fitted alencon lace covered bodice extended into a deep V at the waistline and flowed into a full skirt. The hemline has a wide alencon lace border covered in pearls and clear crystals. The beautiful fan bow completed the back bodice which extended into a cathedral train. She carried a cascading bouquet of rubrum lilies, white roses, magnolias, alstromeria lilies, red rosebuds and trailing ivy accented with baby's breath.

After a wedding trip to Orlando, Florida, the couple will reside in Salem.

Horn-Hylton

MONTVALE - Malora Kennette Hylton and Randy W. Horn, both of Roanoke, exchanged wedding vows November 4, 1995 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Montvale. The Reverend Mike Campbell performed the ceremony.|

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Hylton of Route 5, Martinsville. She is the granddaughter of the late Betty Hamby and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hylton.|

The bridegroom is the son of Carolyn L. Horn of Roanoke. He is the grandson of Mrs. Lura McGeorge and the late Lawrence H. McGeorge.|

Instrumentals and a program of wedding music were performed by Mrs. Elmadine Dooley, pianist, of Montvale.|

The couple exchanged vows in a setting of candles, palms, peace lilies, white floral baskets, and a floating unity candle.|

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin gown that featured a V-neckline, basque waist, and a fitted bodice with hand beaded seed pearls. The full skirt with back peplum was accented with seed pearls, cutaway appliques, and a chapel-length train with scalloped lace trim. A fingertip illusion veil was secured to a band of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses, cascading seed pearls, and white satin ribbons.|

Miss Merridee Kate Hylton of Myrtle Beach, S.C. was her sister's maid of honor. She wore a dark grape velvet gown with a satin sash accented by crystals and rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of small white roses, baby seed pearls, and ribbons of dark grape and teal.|

The groom wore black tails and a single white rosebud.|

Kevin Hatton of Myrtle Beach, friend of the bride and groom, was best man. He wore a black tuxedo with teal bowtie and cumberbund.|

A dinner reception catered by Tommy and Lisa Houston of Martinsville, was held at the Thaxton Community Center.|

Following a wedding trip to Florida, the couple will reside in Roanoke.|

The bride is a graduate of Laurel Park High School and received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Virginia Tech. She is employ ed in Roanoke as a therapist.|

The bridegroom is a graduate of William Byrd High School and received bachelor degrees in psychology and sociology from Virginia Tech. He received a Master's degree in psychology from Radford University and is employed in Roanoke as a therapist|

Lachowicz-Jessee

NORFOLK - Miss Karen Lee Jessee and Dr. Jason Thomas Lachowicz were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, December 2, 1995 at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Norfolk, Virginia. The service was held at 2:00 in the afternoon and was followed by a reception in Memorial Hall.

Miss Nancy Kaye Shelton of Roanoke was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Congleton, sister of the groom; and Melinda Taylor Vest.

William Thomas Garrett of Roanoke was best man. Groomsmen were David Anthony Cavalieri of Chicago, Illinois; Lowell Lee Jessee, Jr., brother of the bride; and Joshua Louis Lachowicz, brother of the groom.

Officiating at the wedding were the Rev. Ross M. Wright, the Rev. John M. Eidam, and the Rev. James E. Parke.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Lee Jessee of Roanoke. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School, Montreat-Anderson College in North Carolina, and Old Dominion University. She is the Parish Secretary at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Norfolk.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Lachowicz of Roanoke. He graduated from Cave Spring High School, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina State University. In early November, he completed his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from North Carolina State University. He will begin post-doctoral research, through a national Research Council fellowship, at NASA Langley Research Center in January, 1996.

The newlyweds will honeymoon in Jamaica, and will make their home in Norfolk.

LePere-McMillan

Tina Louise McMillan and Erik Louis LePere were married December 2, 1995 at Summerville Presbyterian Church in Summerville, South Carolina, with the Reverend John Adams officiating. A reception followed at the Knights of Columbus hall.

The bride was attended by Celeste Ammons, maid of honor, and Sherri Cassella, matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Anna Melton, Shrenda Pelfrey, and Rebekah Justice, all friends of the bride. The groom's father, David L. LePere served as best man. Groomsmen were Bryon LePere, brother of the groom, George Boomer, cousin of the groom, Denny McMillan, brother of the bride, and Buck Perry, friend of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. McMillan of Summerville, South Carolina. She attended the University of South Carolina and is employed by RGIS.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David L. LePere of Roanoke, Virginia. He attended the University of Virginia and is now the district manager of RGIS in Mechanicsburg, Pa., where the newlyweds will reside after their honeymoon trip to Disneyworld.

He graduated from Dominion Business College with a double major in Accounting and Paralegal and is employed by Radisson Patrick Henry Hotel. The newlyweds are living in Roanoke County after their wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Bishop-Hoffman

ROCK HILL, S.C.-Negril, Jamaica was the setting Wednesday, November 15, 1995 for the marriage of Tammy Marie Hoffman and Gary Alan Bishop. A reception was held on Saturday, November 25, 1995 at Essie's Catering in Rock Hill, S.C.

The bride, daughter of Mrs. Bonnie Kimbrell Hoffman of Rock Hill, S.C. and the late Carl Thomas Hoffman, Jr., graduated from York Technical College in 1992. Tammy is a medical laboratory technician.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Barry Bishop of Roanoke, Va. He graduated from Virginia Western College in 1983. Gary is employed as a field service technician with Computer Process Controls in Kennesaw, Ga.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Jamaica and will live in Acworth, Ga.

Barbara Mary Conlon and George Burroughs Cartledge III were married June 10, 1995 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Goderich, Ontario.

She is the daughter of Dr. Michael Francis Conlon and the late Mrs. Nuala M. Conlon. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Burroughs Cartledge, Jr.

The couple reside in Roanoke.

The maid of honor was Virginia Langhorne Hipp, and the matron of honor was Kathryn Gurley Gauss, both friends of the bride. The bridesmaids were Beth Anne Revercomb and Denise Revercomb, both of Roanoke, Va. and Cindy Revercomb of Richmond, Va., sisters-in-law; Allison Cox and Cathy Dugas, sisters of the groom, both of Greenville, S.C.; Susan Cross of Atlanta, Ga., Catherine Hagan of Charlottesville, Va., Sarah Hagan and Elizabeth Norman, both of Richmond, Va. and Mary Brooke Sligh of Savannah, Ga. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lee Cox of Marietta, Ga., He attended Anderson College and is employed by General Equipment & Supply Company.

Following their wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the newlyweds will reside in Greenville, South Carolina.

Adrianna G. Randgaard, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Marie B. Gonzales served as her sister's maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Stephanie S. Danstrom, sister of the groom; Sarah F. Suddreath, friend; Lydia Gonzales, Jennifer Gonzales, Cynthia Gonzales and Antoinette Anz, cousins of the bride.

Lisa is the daughter of David and Nancy Bissonette of Blue Ridge, Virginia. She graduated from Virginia Tech where she majored in Communication Studies. She is employed by Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Dwayne is the son of Leon and Phyllis Stover of Roanoke, Virginia. He graduated from Radford University where he majored in Finance. He is currently pursuing his M.B.A. through Averett College. Dwayne is employed by Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield.

The matron of honor was Beth Crosswhite, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Linda Farris, Bobbi Poff, and Kristyn Shepherd, friends of the bride. The flowergirl was Mary Anna Downey.

The best man was Ed Shepherd, friend of the groom. The ushers were Mike and Ricky Stover, brothers of the groom; Mark Jarrett, brother of the bride, and Dave Hylton, friend of the groom. The ringbearer was Corey Poff.

Wedding music was provided by Mary Gould, pianist, with solos performed by Steve Ridout. Marcia Gribben was the guestbook attendant.

A reception in the Shenandoah Ballroom at the Roanoke Airport Marriott followed the ceremony. Music was provided by Miles High. After a honey moon cruise in the Western Caribbean, the couple will reside in Roanoke, Virginia.

Wampler-Anderson

Lynn Marie Anderson and Robert Hurtchchall Wampler, Jr. were married on November 25, 1995 at 7:00 pm at North Roanoke Baptist Church. Officiating at the double ring ceremony were Rev. Gary Grogan of Lexington, Kentucky and Dr. Darryl Crim of Roanoke, Virginia.|

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul K. Anderson of Roanoke. She is the granddaughter of Ms. Irene Anderson of Salem, the late Mr. Forest Anderson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wyatt.|

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Wampler Sr. of Blue Ridge. He is the grandson of Ms. Kitty Stultz of Roanoke, the late Tom Stultz and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Wampler.|

The bride was preceded by her four brothers and escorted by her father. She was given in marriage by her parents and brothers. The bride wore a white satin gown from the Victorian Collection Exclusive. The re-embroidered lace was elegantly beaded with a high illusion neckline trimmed with rows of pearls with long Juliet sleeves. The fitted bodice featured a deep V-waist with double back bow, full skirt and cathedral train detailed with pearls and lace. The bride carried a bouquet of white, burgundy, and pink roses with accents of pearls and ribbon.|

The maid of honor was Traci Walker of Roanoke, friend of the bride. She wore a black velvet, full length, fitted suit and carried an arm bouquet of burgundy and pink roses. The bridesmaids were Barbara Anderson of Virginia Beach, Gail Anderson and Sandra Anderson, both of Roanoke, Lisa Anderson of Mathews, North Carolina, all sisters-in-law of the bride, Missy Wampler-Croom of Roanoke, sister of the groom, Pam Grogan of Lexington, Kentucky, Tammy Sparks of Roanoke, and Jennif er Woods of Blacksburg, all friends of the bride. The bridesmaids' dresses matched that of the maid of honor and they carried arm bouquets of burgundy roses. The flower girl was Ashlee Jones of Roanoke, cousin of the groom. She wore a black velvet dress trimmed in white lace.

The bridal escorts were Wesley Anderson of Virginia Beach, Edward Anderson and Michael Anderson of Roanoke, and Clarke Anderson of Mathews, North Carolina, all brothers of the bride. The best man was Robert Wampler, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Tommy Mays, Kevin Green, Scott Sarver, David Thompson, all of Roanoke and friends and the groom, and Chris Arnold of Roanoke, cousin of the groom. The ringbearer and Bible carrier was Jason Anderson of Roanoke, nephew of the bride. Jason carried the Bible the bride's mother carried in her wedding.|

The guest book was attended by Deanie Ronk of Roanoke, friend of the bride. The programs were given out by Wyatt Anderson and Chris Anderson of Roanoke, both nephews of the bride.|

Instrumentalists for the ceremony were Doug and Cindy Pedigo of Roanoke, friends of the bride and groom. Doug and Cindy sang ``Longer Than'' and ``Beautiful in My Eyes'' preceding the ceremony. During the ceremony they sang ``Parents Prayer'', Doug sang ``The Father Says I Do''. Missy Wampler-Croom sang ``Make Us One Father'', and Robert Wampler sang ``The Lord's Prayer.''|

The reception followed the ceremony in the Church Fellowship Hall. When the bride and groom left the church, the bride was wearing the dress her mother wore when she left her wedding reception.|

The bride is a graduate of Northside High School and is planning to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. The groom is also a graduate of Northside and earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. He is employed by Engineering Concepts of Fincastle.|

After a honeymoon at Paradise Island, the couple will live in Roanoke.|

Weaver-Hurt

Miss Lela Owen Hurt and Mr. Michael Livingston Weaver were married November 18, 1995, in Saint John's Episcopal Church. The Reverend Thomas P. O'Dell, Rector, officiated. The reception followed at Hunting Hills Country Club.|

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Peter Lynde Via of Roanoke and Dr. John Omohundro Hurt Jr. of New Castle. She is a graduate of North Cross School and Wake Forest University, and is a senior at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.|

The groom is the son of Mrs. Edna Lee Weaver and the late Mr. Robert Livingston Weaver of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and attends Virginia Polytechnic and State University.|

Mrs. Claire Hurt Sullivan of Greensboro, North Carolina was her sister's matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Elizabeth Ray Hitchcock of Cookeville, Tennessee, cousin of the bride, Miss Sandra Lynn Nolan of Rockville, Maryland, Miss Amy Scherr Childs of Marina Del Rey, California, and Miss Durann Yongue Williams of Durham, North Carolina.|

Mr. William Hunter Hume of Roanoke served as best man. The ushers were Mr. Larry Allen Weaver of Fairbanks, Alaska, brother of the groom, Mr. Joshua Leigh Umberger of Boones Mills, nephew of the groom, Mr. Keith Edward Adams of Ashburn, Virginia, and Mr. Thomas Christopher Sullivan of Greensboro, North Carolina.

The couple will reside in Blacksburg.

Wood-Turman

Tamar Antholene Turman and William Lawson Wood, Jr. were married December 2, 1995 in the University of N.C. at Greensboro Alumni House. The Reverend Earl Gibson of Magnolia Manor, Colfax, N.C. officiated.

Maid of honor was Christelle Worley, cousin. Bridesmaids were Kim Burton, cousin; Lisa Gibson, Katana Houghtaling, Glenda Trostle, Christi Wood, the groom's sister; and Beth Worley, cousin. Flowergirls were April Burton, Chelsea Layman, and Madison Worley.

The best man was William Wood, Sr., father of the groom. Ushers were Chris Hunt; Dean Turman, the bride's brother; Randy Willard, Randy Wimmer, and Bobby Worley, cousin. Ringbearer was Lynn Trostle. The guestbook was attended by Tammy Hudgins and Lisa Layman.

The bride carried an herbal bouquet.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack McKinley Turman of High Point, N.C. She is a graduate of Southwest Guilford High School and the University of N.C. at Greensboro, N.C.

The groom is the son of Ms. Anita Wood of Alexandria, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. William Wood of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Cave Spring High School, Roanoke, and is employed by Virginia Truck Center.

The newlyweds will live in Roanoke, after their wedding trip to the Bahamas.
