"Who Will Minister to Them," a Christmas play by local playwright Glena Jessee King, will be performed at Elliston Church of God today at 7 p.m.
The play is based on the true story of King's grandfather, Preacher Jim Hood, who ministered to area residents during a measles epidemic in the early 1920s. Hood lost two of his seven children in one night to the disease.
The play also features a Biblical portion about Elisabeth and Zacharias, parents of John the Baptist, and Mary and Joseph, and others.
All are welcome to attend. The play is free, but an offering will be accepted.

JOYFUL NOISES
The New River Valley Community Chorus will present its Christmas Concerts at 8 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Pulaski and at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Central United Methodist Church in Radford.
The performances will include "Joy to the World," "Silver Bells" and "Go Tell it on the Mountain." The concerts are free, but donations are welcome.
The Music Ministry of Main Street Baptist Church in Christiansburg will present "Go Change the World - An Angelic Celebration," Dec. 16-18 at 7:30 each night. The musical pageant depicts the life of Jesus and features music and drama by more than 100 church members.
Nursery care will be provided, and the event is free, though an offering will be taken.
