A 74-year-old Lynchburg woman died Friday afternoon from injuries received in a car accident this week in Bedford County that also killed her sister and brother-in-law.
Frances L. Wright died at 2 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She had been in the hospital's surgical intensive care unit since she was admitted Wednesday night.
According to state police, Wright's brother-in-law, 75-year-old Willie Edgar Doss, also of Lynchburg, drove his car out of a driveway near U.S. 221 and Virginia 621 at about 5 p.m. Wednesday and into the path of a pickup truck. Wright and her sister were passengers in the car.
Doss died at the scene. His wife, Ruth Wright Doss, 69, was pronounced dead later that night at Lynchburg General.
The truck driver, 45-year-old Ramona M. Williams of Lynchburg, and her 9-year-old daughter were treated for minor injuries and released.
No charges were filed.
