A family was homeless Sunday morning after fire gutted a Roanoke apartment.
Fire Capt. Carl Roberts said investigators think the blaze may have been started accidentally by children playing with fire. No one was injured.
The 9 a.m. blaze in the 1300 block of Rorer Avenue Southwest caused about $10,000 damage. The Red Cross is helping the family, Roberts said.
