FLOYD COUNTY STANDOUT VOTED BEST PLAYER IN THE STATE

Melissa CantrelL headlines seven Timesland players on the all-state girls' basketball teams.

Floyd County's Melissa Cantrell is the only repeater on The Associated Press All-Group A girls' basektball team, this time as player of the year.

On the All-Group AA team, Sarah Hicks, who led Lord Botetourt to the championship, and Shellie Johnson of Salem were Timesland's first-team representatives. Please see microfilm for complete text.
