Safe holiday tips
CHRISTIANSBURG - The Christiansburg Seniors and Law Enforcement Council Together offers some suggestions for a safe holiday season.
Lock all windows and doors before leaving or going to bed. Use automatic timers to turn on lights, radio and television at dusk and off at bedtime. Keep garage doors closed and locked. Do not allow mail to accumulate: stop newspapers and magazine deliveries while away. Arrange to have walks shoveled. Keep Christmas presents away from the windows so they aren't visible. Contact your local police department for home security checks while you are away.
