Two men wearing army jackets and black masks forced their way into a Northwest Roanoke apartment early Friday, handcuffed the resident to a kitchen table and fired a gun.
Police gave this account of what happened: About 12:15 a.m., Dianne Jackson opened her door after someone identified himself as an acquaintance.
Two men pushed their way into her apartment and handcuffed her leg to the kitchen table. One of the men displayed a handgun, hit Jackson in the mouth, then fired a bullet into the kitchen stove.
At that time, Jackson's brother knocked at the door. The men opened the door, put a gun to the brother's face, then fled. Jackson could not determine if any property was taken.
Jackson was treated at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for an injury to her mouth.
