W.B. "BILL" RICHARDSON has been named president and executive director of business development and administration for R&K Engineering Inc., which has relocated its offices to the Centre for Industry and Technology. The new offices are in the administrative wing of the Cooper Industries Building. Richardson is a co-founder of the firm.
Also, GAIL M. BOLT remains a vice president and has been named executive director of operations. She has been a with the firm since 1988 and was most recently the director of automated systems development.
RALPH K. BAKER JR. has been named planning director of R&K. He has been with the firm for eight years and had been a senior planner/analyst for military projects. ROBIN R. MEADOR has been named the systems director. She was most recently the assistant director of R&K's automated systems development and has been with the firm for eight years.
GLEN A. WHITTAKER has been named the manager of business development for R&K. Previously he was a project manager and has been with the company eight years.
Spectrum Engineers, a Roanoke engineering firm, has appointed GEOFF A. STRAUGHN head of its civil/environmental department. He is a registered environmental site assessor and a principal with the firm.
Also at Spectrum, JERRY L. KINZIE has been named mechanical department head, SUZANNE H. NICEWONDER has been appointed head of the electrical department, and GEORGE A. BEVILACQUE has been selected head of the structural department.
In companywide expansion, ROBERT N. POWELL, a civil designer, has joined the civil/environmental department; RICHARD G. ROBINSON, a project engineer, and CHITRA RANGANATHAN, a mechanical designer, have joined the mechanical department; and ERIC D. LYONS, an electrical designer, has joined the electrical department. KENNY KAPLAN has been named administrator of the computer-aided design drafting department and KENNETH CARY has joined the department as a designer.
