ARNOLD, Minnie Virginia Givens, 87, of Roanoke, died Saturday, December 16, 1995 in a Salem nursing home. She was a member of Belmont Christian Church for sixty years. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Quesenberry Glass and husband, Allan of Salem, Joanne and Lowell Blankenbeckler of Alexandria, and Brenda M. Arnold, Christiansburg; one nephew, Bobby L. Lugar, New Castle; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral servi ces will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 1995, with the Rev. Mike Barnes officiating. BENJUMEA, Diane Windel, 51, of Patterson, N.J., formerly of Roanoke, died Sunday, December 17, 1995, in St. Joseph's Hospital after a very short illness with leukemia. Preceding her in death was her father, Ray H. Windel of Elliston. Surviving are her mother, Jeanette P. Crawford, Roanoke; five children, Lisa, Tanya and Steven Cherifi of New Jersey, Jeffrey Cherifi of Salem, Darrin Benjumea of New Jersey. Also surviving are a sister, Denise Sweeney-Hall; brothers, Ronald E. Windel and Thomas A. Crawford, both of Roanoke; one grandchild, Alexa Cherifi; and several nephews and special aunt, Jewel Arrington. She graduated from Andrew-Lewis High School in 1962. BORDWINE, Anel L. Mitchell, 71, of Roanoke, formerly of Saltville, passed away Saturday, December 16, 1995, at her home. She was retired from Charcoal Steakhouse and attended Cloverdale Church of the Brethren. She was deeply loved by her family. She is survived by three daugh ters, Sandy M. Wyatt, Janie M. and Kenny Entsminger, Judy Gutierrez; five grandchildren, David Bordwine, Tim Wyatt, Misty Banks, Sarah and Jennifer Entsminger; two great-grandchildren, Alex Bordwine, Timmy Wyatt II, all of Roanoke. Also surviving are two sisters, Zola B. Adams, Saltville, and Nancy B. Louthian of Tennessee; one brother, Johnny Bordwine, Chesapeake. BOWER, Mary Lee, 85, formerly of Signal Hill Avenue, N.W., died Sunday, December 17, 1995. She was a retired employee of Roanoke City Schools and Hollins College. Mrs. Bower was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Bower, and a son, Bobby Wayne Bower. Surviving are a son, Donald L. Bower and his wife, Cathy; two grandchildren, Angela Hancock and Michelle Bower; a great-grandchild, Presten Hancock, all of Vinton; two brothers, Robert E. Lee and Frank Lee of Roanoke, and a sister, Miss Thelma Lee of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 1995, with the Rev. John W. CLATTERBUCK, Nelson Elwood, 80, of Pembroke, died Saturday, December 16, 1995, at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem. Born at Browntown in Warren County on December 11, 1915, he was a son of the late James and Iona Jenkins Clatterbuck. Nelson was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, retired from the Town of Blacksburg as a heavy equipment operator, and served in the CCC Camp at Pembroke. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Leuna Baker Clatterbuck; one son and his wife, Harry E. and Barbara Bender Clatterbuck of Slidell, La.; two daughters and their husbands, Bonnie C. and Paul Drinkard of Evington, and Yvonne C. and Bob Warren of Salem; three brothers; two sisters; five grandsons; one granddaughter, and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be couducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 1995, at the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel in Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 p.m. Monday.

DURHAM, Theodore R. Sr., (``Ted""), 90, of Vinton, died Sunday, December 17, 1995. He was retired from the Town of Vinton. He is survived by his wife, Mary H. Durham; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Robert and Mary Durham, Theodore R. Jr. (Ted) and Kathy Durham, both of Roanoke; Hugh Robert and Betty Durham, Vinton; five daughters and sons-in-law, Janie Durham Fetter, Roanoke, Virginia and Arvin Dillon, Falls Church, Nancy D. and Gene Darnell, Dorothy and Dennis Cummings, all of Roanoke, Eunice and Tom Kirby, Henderson, N.C.; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 20,1995 at 2 p.m. at Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. William Anthony Layman and Dr. George W. Jones officiating. GORDON, Bertha E., 91, of Radford, died Sunday, December 17, 1995, in a Radford hospital. Surviving are two daughters, Louise DeHart of Radford and Elizabeth Boynton of Dublin; a sister, Mary Brown of Shawsville; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Mountain View Cemetery, Newbern, with the Rev. Barry Taylor officiating. HARRIS, Miss Virginia Lee, 81, of Roanoke, died Friday, December 15, 1995, in a local nursing home. Miss Harris received her Bachelor's Degree from Mary Washington College and Master's Degree from V.P.I. She was a former Business Education teacher in Rocky Mount, Va., Jefferson High School, Roanoke, and Radford University. Miss Harris was a past member of A.A.U.W. and the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was a member of Huntington Court United Methodist Church. Surviving are a sister Lucille H. ""Lucy"" Fink, Roanoke; nephews, Wilson Nash, Virginia Beach, David Nash and his wife, Patricia, Roanoke and William Nash and his wife, Clara, Roanoke. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 18, 1995, with Dr. Alton M. Washington officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. HINSHAW, Catherine Lorraine, (``Cathy""), 69, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, December 17,1995. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Emma Lawson Hinshaw, and a sister, Margaret H. Wright. Cathy worked for many years with the Roanoke Valley Blind Bowlers Association and had retired from the City of Roanoke Commiss ioner of Revenue Office. Surviving are her brother, Swanson M. Hinshaw, Atlanta, Ga.; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Alma H. and Mason Cooper, Martinsburg, W.Va., Elizabeth H. and Pete Martin, Copper Hill; also several nieces and nephews. LEONARD, Bertha May White, 83, of Blue Ridge, died Saturday , December 16, 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony L. Leonard. She was a life-long member of Glade Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert L. and Dorothy Leonard, and Fred L. and Shelby Leonard of Blue Ridge; daughters and sons-in-law, Muriel L. and Charles Davis of Vinton, Margaret L. and George Tribbett of Blue Ridge, Janie L. and Nelson Dudley of Roanoke, Carolyn L. and Richard Vandergrift of Kernersville, N.C., and Sandra L. and Harry Ennis of Blue Ridge; brothers, Jasper Ernest White and Carlie White of Salem; 20 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. MILLER, Ocie Dunagan, 91, of 512 Lafayette Street, Pulaski, died Saturday, December 16, 1995 at her home from injuries received in a house fire. She was born in Bland County on October 21, 1904 and was the daughter of the late Enoch Dunagan and Mary Ellen Fanning Dunagan. She was alwo preceded in death by her husband, John T. Miller. Surviving are one sister, Kate Hight, Pulaski; and several nieces and nephews. Fu neral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. REYNOLDS, Cosby Edna, 82, of Radford, died Sunday, December 17, 1995, in Heritage Hall Health Care Center. Surviving are three sisters, Stella Roop Lawrence of Christiansburg, Josie Landrum of Radford and Bonita O'Brien of Blacksburg, and a brother, Manuel Reynolds of Radford. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Highland Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Walter Zimmerman and the Rev. Samuel Earl Reynolds Jr. officiating. RICHARDSON, Betty Jean Horton, 64, of Roanoke, passed on into Glory on Friday, December 15, 1995 at Community Hospital. Jean, as she was affectionately known by family and friends, was a native of Roanoke, Va. Jean was raised and educated in the Roanoke City School System and was a 1950 graduate of Lucy Addison High School and was a 1960 graduate of the LPN Class of Burrell Memorial Hospital. She was a very special, loving, and caring person, always willing to help others whenever needed. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald C. Richardson. She leaves to mourn her loss, her beloved husband of forty-five years, James Davis Richardson; her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne D. and Cynthia M. Richardson, Roanoke; a daughter, Debra C. Richardson, Richmond; her grandchildren, Kelly R. and Kelsey M. Richardson; a sister, Mildred Diane Williams, Brooklyn, N.Y.; two brothers, Donald and Paul Horton, both of Roanoke; her mother-in-law, Irene Dalton, Roanoke; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. RORRER, Jason Eliot, 29, of Route 1, Box 121-B, Draper, died Saturday, December 16, 1995 in Wythe Co., Va. from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born in Radford, Va. on February 25, 1966. Survivng are his wife, Veronica Jill W. Rorrer, Draper; daughter, Suzanne Nicole Rorrer, Draper; son, Thomas Nolan Rorrer, Draper; parents, Dennis G. and Judy F. RUSH, Ethel Lucille Houston, 66, of Salem, died Saturday,December 16, 1995 at a Salem hospital. She is survived by her husband of forty-ni ne years, Richard E. Rush. She was the loving mother of sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Diane Rush, Hickory, N.C., Larry and Donna Rush, Christiansburg, Jerry and Jeanne Rush, David and Becky Rush, all of Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Sonji and Richard Dellinger, Christiansburg. VANNOY, Jessie Monroe, 45, of Marion, died Saturday, December 16, 1995 in the Smyth County Community Hospital. Mr. Vannoy was a member of the South Fork Baptist Church and a longtime employee of Marley Mouldings. Survivors include his wife, Marcia Johnson Vannoy, Marion; brothers, Jessie Alvin Vannoy, Rural Retreat, William Marvin Vannoy, Rural Retreat; sisters, Violet Holiday, Newark, Ohio, Joy Kirker, Rural Retreat, Hazel Canfield, Coshocton, Ohio, Rosie Ward, Abingdon and Maggie Waring, Rural Retreat. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, to include special niece and nephew, Dan and Sallie Wann of Chilhowie. VEST, Wavie Burch, 91, of Buena Vista, died Sunday, December 17, 1995, at Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington. She was born December 1, 1904, in Amherst County, daughter of the late Frank Burch and Emmie Henson Burch. She was a member of the Oronoco Brethren Church in Amherst County. Surviving are her husband, Yokley Vest; three daughters, Velma Bradley and Arnona Kerr of Buena Vista and Lucille Ward of Baltimore, Md.; one son, Earsey Coleman of Baltimore; two sisters, Rennie Davis of Vesuvius and Sarah Coleman of Buena Vista; one brother, Bernard Burch of Buena Vista; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. ZANGARI, Maria Isabella Monteleone, 91, of Roanoke, died Saturday, December 16, 1995. She was born in Catanazaro, Italy, daughter of the late Francesco Monteleone and Maria Autonietta Natali. She was preceded in death by her husband, Giuseppi Zangari, and her only son, G. Frank Zangari. Mrs. Zangari came to the United States in April, 1935, and made her home in Norton, W.Va., for over 43 years. She spent the last 18 years in Roanoke. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Coalton, W.Va., and a member of Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church in Roanoke. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Pasquelino Cavallaro of Montreal, Canada, and Rosina Z. and Bill Stack of Roanoke; grandchildren, Joseph and Maria Stack, Maria, Eleanora and Domenick Cavallaro; brothers, Giuseppi Monteleone and Rocco Monteleone; sister, Filomena Martino, all of Italy, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church by Father Robert Cummings. A Rosary service will be held Thursday evening at the Runner Funeral Home in Elkins, W.Va. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Brendan's Church Cemetery in Elkins. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Lotz Roanoke Chapel.
