Joyce Jenkins wants to use her donation to the Good Neighbors Fund in honor of a friend and as a warning against drinking and driving.
Jenkins' friend, Gail Langley of Vinton, is still in a coma as a result of a May accident involving a drunken driver. Langley's mother was killed.
Langley was taking her mother home to Georgia when, 10 miles from her destination, a drunken driver crossed a divided highway and crashed into Langley's car. Her mother and the other driver were killed.
"Today ... Gail remains in the hospital in a coma. I think about all the heartache her family has experienced since this tragic accident. I want this donation to help someone in need this Christmas season. Also, I would hope and pray that the message to not drink and drive can get across to everyone," Jenkins wrote.< ||||||||||||||||||||| JUNK
