A Virginia official said Monday night the Peach Bowl may place a ceiling on the number of tickets UVa may sell.
Sports promotions director Wood Selig said UVa sold 400 tickets Monday for a total of 15,500 for its Dec.30 meeting with Georgia at the Georgia Dome.
Selig said Peach Bowl officials feel the game can become a sellout before Christmas for the first time if they can get a hand on all remaining unsold tickets.
Virginia, which had set a goal of 20,000 tickets, may not have that opportunity if its tickets are not purchased in the next 24-48 hours. The Cavaliers' previous best was 17,500 tickets sold for the 1989 Citrus Bowl.
