Several churches in the New River Valley are sponsoring live Nativity scenes in the coming days:
Belmont Christian Church's Nativity scene continues tonight and Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. The theme is "From the Cradle to the Cross." The church is located on Peppers Ferry Road, a half-mile from the Division of Motor Vehicles. The event will be cancelled in case of inclement weather. 831-8521.
Park United Methodist Church on Park Street in Christiansburg will have a Nativity scene tonight from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 23 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The event will feature live animals, and Christmas carols by the church choir. Everyone is invited to have hot chocolate inside the church. 382-4062.
Slusser's Chapel Church of God on Mount Tabor Road in Blacksburg will have a Nativity scene tonight and Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Refreshments will be available in the chapel cafe. 951-1757.
Blacksburg United Methodist Church on Church and Lee Streets will have a Nativity scene Friday and Saturday, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., and Sunday, from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. The scene will be behind the church, on the corner of Lee and Penn Streets.
Lafayette United Methodist Church in Elliston will have a Nativity scene called a "Walk to Bethlehem" Saturday at 6 p.m. 268-5098.
