COUGAR KICKER EXPECTED TO PICK HOKIES

Pulaski County kicker Shayne Graham, who was named Timesland offensive player of the year after kicking 17 field goals this season, is expected to make an oral commitment to Virginia Tech.

Graham had planned visits to Virginia and North Carolina, but he will make his commitment to the Hokies known on Friday.

The 6-foot, 172-pound soccer-style kicker booted 38 field goals in four seasons, the second-highest total in the National High School Federation record book.

Graham received scholarship offers from Tech, Virginia, North Carolina and Boston College.
