Shuttle buses will run from the Williamson Road parking garage tonight for the Virginia Tech vs. Virginia basketball game at the Roanoke Civic Center. The shuttles will start at 6 p.m. and will run again immediately after the game.
The shuttle service is free, as is parking in the garage. In addition, there will be parking at the Norfolk Southern lot on Kimball Avenue (between Roanoke Gas and the NS Kimball Building). There is also off-street parking available around the civic center. Please note that many private lots, including the post office's, do not allow parking and will tow cars from the lots.
The civic center also reports that it will hold public ice skating on Sunday. There will be two session: from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m.
Admission is $4 for each two-hour period, and skates are available to rent for $2. The skating entrance is at the back of the coliseum.
Other skating dates are Jan. 14 and 28; Feb. 18; March 10 and 24.
The schedule is subject to change pending other events.
