GLASS SURGES IN SECOND HALF TO WIN TOURNEY

The E.C. Glass Hilltoppers broke open a close girls' high school basketball game after halftime to defeat Roanoke Valley Christian 34-25 in the championship of the Roanoke Valley Christian Holiday Classic on Saturday.

E. C. Glass (6-2) led by two points at halftime.

Dion Cartwright led the Hilltoppers with 14 points.

Roanoke Valley Christian (6-2) was led by Rebecca Bryant's eight points and eight rebounds.

Lynchburg Christian 43, Patrick Henry 26: The Bulldogs outscored the Patriots 19-0 in the first quarter in the consolation game of the Roanoke Valley Christian tournament.

Patrick Henry did not score until Keeda Hale knocked down a 3-point shot 1:15 into the second quarter to make the score 19-3.

The Patriots outscored Lynchburg Christian after that point 26-24. Renea Hill led Patrick Henry with 10 points.
