MOONSHINE STILL SEIZED IN FRANKLIN

A moonshine still in Franklin County was the first to be seized in the state this year.

About 1 p.m. Wednesday, state agents raided the illegal distillery, which was located off Virginia 785 in the Endicott community.

The operation contained one 800-gallon blackpot still, and agents seized seven gallons of whiskey.

Robert Eugene Setney, 35, of Ferrum was arrested and charged with manufacturing alcohol without a license, according to a report from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control in Richmond.
