A moonshine still in Franklin County was the first to be seized in the state this year.
About 1 p.m. Wednesday, state agents raided the illegal distillery, which was located off Virginia 785 in the Endicott community.
The operation contained one 800-gallon blackpot still, and agents seized seven gallons of whiskey.
Robert Eugene Setney, 35, of Ferrum was arrested and charged with manufacturing alcohol without a license, according to a report from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control in Richmond.
