Adrienne Lois Brown, wife of singer James Brown, died Saturday, two days after undergoing an elective surgical procedure. She was 47.
She was pronounced dead at Century City Hospital after being brought there by paramedics, the hospital said in a written statement. The cause of death was not released.
She had been recovering from surgery at an ``after care'' facility in Beverly Hills. The type of surgery, which was performed in a doctor's office, was not disclosed.
The hospital said the surgery did not appear to have contributed to her death. There also was no sign of foul play, the statement said.
Adrienne Brown, a former hair stylist for television shows including ``Days of Our Lives'' and ``Solid Gold,'' had been married to James Brown, 62, for more than 10 years in an often stormy relationship.
