BUNN, Ruben Warren, 74, of Fancy Gap, passed away Saturday, January 6, 1996 in Twin County Regional Hospital. He was born April 23, 1921 in Fancy Gap, Va., son of the late Robert H. Bunn and Gertrude B. Bunn. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Stoneman Bunn; daughters and sons-in-law, Anne B. and Paul David of Georgia, Sue B. and V. J. Burcham, Fancy Gap, Jean B. CRAWFORD, Virginia Cottrell, 44, of Route 2, Bedford, died Friday, January 5, 1996, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on January 3, 1996. She was born in Bedford County on May 13, 1951, daughter of James Madison Cottrell and the late Hazel Virginia Howell Cottrell. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Charlie Cottrell. She was a member of Suck Spring Baptist Church, and was Assistant Vice President and Loan Officer of Bedford Federal Savings Bank where she had been a loyal and devoted employee for over 26 years. She considered her fellow employees a part of her extended family and unselfishly treated her customers as her own. She was a 1969 graduate of Liberty High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and helped in organizing class reunions. As a model parent, she devoted her energies to supporting her twin sons in their school projects and participated in their clubs and organizations, often being elected club treasurer. She lived her life in unceasing service to others. In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Thomas L. (``Tommy"") Crawford; twin sons Andrew L. (``Andy"") Crawford and James G. (``Jamey"") Crawford; her brother and sister-in-law, John William (``Bill"") and Helen M. Cottrell, all of Bedford, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 1996, at Bedford Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jerry M. Parr and the Rev. Wilton O. Gleaton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to either the Bedford Christian Ministries or the Bedford Life Saving Crew. DAUGHERTY, Dollie Stine, 89, of Roanoke, died Saturday, January 5, 1996. She was the widow of Silas C. Daugherty Jr. Survivors include her sons, Silas C. Daugherty III of Texas, Blaine S. HILL, John William, 72, of Vinton, passed away Friday, January 5, 1996. He was a retired engineer from Norfolk Southern with 30 years service. HUDDLESTON, Allene Moore, 84, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, January 3, 1996. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Salem, where she served as pianist and organist, and sang in the choir. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross in Sacramento, Calif., and Roanoke. She donated time and services to the Pregnancy and Crisis Center in Roanoke. She is survived by her son, Ralph Huddleston o f Sacramento, Calif.; her daughter, Virginia Myers of Sacramento; three brothers, Frank, Herman and Hudson Moore of Hampton, and two grandchildren. There will be a memorial service at Tabernacle Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 1996. LYLE, James A. Jr., 49, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Lexington, Va., died Wednesday, January 3, 1996 at a Houston hospital. A son of James and Emma Lyle, he was born February 19, 1946 in Lexington. Mr. Lyle was a graduate of the former Lylburn Downing High School and a member of the First Baptist Church in Lexington. After serving honorably in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War, he graduated from Bishop College, Dallas, Texas and taught in the Houston School System for twenty-two years. ``Mr. Lyle"", as he was affectionately known to his students, had a warm and tender way with children. He is survived by his parents, James and Emma Lyle, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; his companion, Regina Jackson and son, Stephen Jackson of Houston, Texas; one sister, Virginia Lyle of Huntsville, Alabama; two brothers, William Lyle, Vienna, Va. and Lawrence Lyle of Huntsville, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Gloria and Laura; two nieces, Lisa and Khia; and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives. The body will be moved to the First Baptist Church, Lexington, Va. on Wednesday, January 10, 1996, at 11 a.m., where the family will receive friends until service time. The funeral service will be held at the church at 1 p.m., with the Rev. J. Dennis Rose, Minister. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. J. B. MASSEY, Christine Firebaugh, 73, of Roanoke, passe d away Saturday, January 6, 1996. She was preceded in death by her husband, Empson Thomas Massey and a brother, Nelson Edward Firebaugh. SNIDER, K. B., 64, of Marion, died Friday, January 5, 1996, at his home. K. B. was the son of the late Kenneth K. and Mayme McCready Snider, and a lifelong resident of Smyth County. He attended Marion public schools, college, and served in the United States Air Force. After military service, he returned to Marion to work in the family owned and operated Ford auto dealership, Smyth County Motor Co., Inc. He was very active in the Blue Ridge Dealers Association, where he served as President, and the Virginia Automobile Dealers Association, where he served on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and as the association's first president elected west of Roanoke. K. B. also served on the Smyth County Board of Supervisors and many civic organizations including Marion Kiwanis Club, the Smyth County Chamber of Commerce and the Marion Volunteer Fire Department. He was a past president of the Friends of the Library and past Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Smith-Bland Regional Library. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, where he served on many committees and boards. He is survived by his wife, Ann T. Snider of Marion; a daughter, Mia Snider Maiden of Abingdon; two sons, Mark V. Snider of Marion and Miles R. Snider of Kingsport, Tenn.; two sisters, Madelon Crockett of Wytheville and Evelyn (``Tootsie"") Berry of Chilhowie; one brother, Charles K. Snider of Marion, and three grandchildren, Brandon Snider, Bethany Snider and Merrick Snider. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Janua ry 7, at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, with Dr. J. N. Howard and the Rev. Pam Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery.
