Wayne and Mary Carter celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary December 24, 1995 with a family dinner at Hotel Roanoke, hosted by their son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Cathy Carter of Alexandria, Va. They have two granddaughters, Emma and Elizabeth. Mrs. Carter is the former Mary Shaw. Cutler anniversary O. ``Ray'' and Jeanne Cutler celebrated their 50th anniversary. Ray is the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Orvid R. Cutler of Preston, Idaho. Jeanne is the daughter of the late Lloyd D. Davis and his wife, Emma F. Davis of Preston, Idaho. Ray and Jeanne were married on January 4, 1946, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Logan, Utah Temple. Ray was serving in the U. S. Army and after their marriage, they completed his tour of duty in Munich, Germany. Upon their return to the States, Ray completed his education at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He then pursued his career as a chemist employed by DuPont, Inc. in Laurel, Del., Hercules, Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Radford, Va., and retired as a senior research chemist from DeSoto, Inc. in Des Plains, Ill.
They raised a family of two daughters, Susan Cutler Webster of Salem, Va., and Becky Cutler Wiser of Orem, Utah. They have and enjoy five grandchildren, Chris and wife Terry Morris, and Mandy Morris, all of Salem, Va., Justin, Brittney and Chelsea Wiser of Orem, Utah. Jeanne has continued her career as a home maker, a genealogical research consultant. On Ray's retirement, they moved to Ray's home town of Preston, Idaho, where they continue to reside. Because of the distance between the families, visits are less often than they would like. A July 1996 family reunion is planned in Preston to celebrate this 50th anniversary event. Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Epperly celebrated their 50th anniversary January 3, 1996. They were married by D. W. Wolford at his home January 3, 1946. They have two children, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A reception will be held at a later date. Hunley anniversary
Hubert and Margie Hunley celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 7, 1996 at the Mt. Pleasant Lion's Club Building. The reception was hosted by their children and their spouses, Carla and Ryland Pickeral, Gary and Brenda Hunley, and Bonnie and Bruce Hartman. They were married January 3, 1946 in Roanoke. She is the former Margie Jones of Check , Va. He is retired as a contract mail carrier, and she is retired from Walter's Printing Co. They have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Clyde and Evie Radford celebrated their 54th anniversary on Saturday, December 30, 1995, at a dinner held by their children. The couple was married December 30, 1941, in Floyd, Virginia. She is the former Evie Mae Coates. They have four children, Charles Radford of Copper Hill, Wilma Jones of Salem, Norma Bland of Roanoke, and Wilton Radford of Copper Hill. They have eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. White anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Everlyn B. White celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 22 at the Charcoal Steakhouse, hosted by their three children. Following dinner, they were surprised at a reception at their home on Logan S treet, Salem. The couple was married on December 25, 1945, at the Salem Baptist Church Parsonage by Dr. R.P. Downey. She is the former Hilda Lucille Cecil of Salem. Their children are Edwin C. White, Columbia, S.C.; Linda Meador, Roanoke, and Fred W. White, Salem. They have five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Mr. White is retired from Roanoke Iron & Bridge, and Mrs. White is a retired homemaker. They are members of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
