CARTER, Shirley Diane, 43, of Roanoke died Thursday, Jan. 4, 1996. The funeral changed to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakey's South Chapel. Rev. Roy W. Shewbridge is officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel after 10 a.m. Tuesday.

DENNIS, David Ricardo Jr., infant, of Roanoke died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 1996. Because of the weather, the graveside service changed to 1 p.m. Wednesday., Jan. 10, 1996. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.

BROOKS, Fannie Mae, 99, of Saltville died Saturday, Jan. 6, 1996 at the Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, Va. She is survived by two sons, Eli Brooks Jr. of Abingdon; Frank Brooks of Cleveland, Tenn.; one daughter, Dixie Roberts of Saltville; one daughter-in-law, Betty R. Brooks of Glade Spring; one brother, Cecil Peirce of Abingdon; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but will be handled by The D.R. Henderson Funeral Home Inc., Saltville.

BUNN, Ruben, 74, of Fancy Gap died Saturday, Jan. 6, 1996. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel Inc., Hillsville.

CAVANAGH, LyndaLee, 77, of Lexington died Saturday, Jan. 6, 1996 at her home. She was born in Beaumont, Texas on Jan. 20, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Lamar Renfroe and Mabel Lee Turner and the stepdaughter of W.O. Turner. She was the widow of William F. Cavanagh Jr. She is survived by three daughters, DonnaLeeYoung of Grandview, Mo.; Melou Piegari of Lexington; Denise Terzian of Washingtonville, N.Y.; one son, William F. Cavanagh III of Glendale, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

HALL, Lois C., 83, of Marion died Sunday, Jan. 7, 1996. Arrangements by Seaver-Brown Funeral Service, Marion.

McCOLLUM, Nellie Hayes, 82, of Marion died Friday, Jan. 5, 1996 at Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 3, 1913 in Marion, the only child of William H. and Annie Hayes. She received her early education in the Smyth County school system. At an early age, she was baptized and joined the First Baptist Church of Marion. She was a lifetime member of the church where she played the organ, taught Sunday School, served as treasurer and as a trustee for 30 years. Very devoted to her parents, she took care of her mother and father until their deaths. In the 1930s she met and married Frank McCollum. Left to mourn her are nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will truly be missed by all those who loved and worked with her. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Cox, elder Lester Turner and the Rev. Nolan Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.

SEXTON, Jane Collins, 87, of Marion died Saturday, Jan. 6, 1996 at her home. She was the widow of William Cone Sexton. She was born June 6, 1908 in Smyth County's Cleghorn Valley to John Wesley and Sarah Billings Collins. She was the eighth of 11 children. In 1927 she came to Marion and worked for Marion College and the Hotel Marion before taking a job with Southwestern State Hospital. Later she worked as a private duty nurse. She was a life long member of Cleghorn Valley Baptist Church. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Eugene Hoover, and family; several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
