A new storm moving eastward could dump more snow on Western Virginia by Thursday or Friday.
"It's one that's going to be a little tougher to call than this last one," said Jan Jackson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Blacksburg.
The weekend storm originated near Mobile, Ala., and got much of its moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, said Danielle Desrosiers, also with the National Weather Service.
The new storm heading this way originated more to the north and will not begin to pick up moisture until it arrives in this area.
Because of that, it isn't expected to bring nearly as much snow as the last storm. But the National Weather Service is expecting it to qualify as a winter storm - which means 4 or more inches of snow. - Staff report
