SCHOOLS ADJUST SCHEDULES

Because of the past week's bad weather and consequent school closings, area schools have rescheduled exam dates and teacher workdays. Here is a list of changes:

* Montgomery County Public Schools First semester will be extended by nine days when school reopens in an effort to balance teaching days between the two semesters. The exam period will start on the sixth day that students attend school following Monday's school holiday, Lee-Jackson-King Day.

Days 6 through 9, after students return to school, have been marked as possible exam days, with exams starting at some high schools on day 6. Individual school exam schedules will be determined by each principal.

The teacher workday scheduled for Jan. 22 will now be a regular attendance day for students and staff.

The financial aid workshop at Blacksburg High School has been rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium.

* Pulaski County Schools Schools will be closed Monday. First semester final exams for high-school students have been canceled. Makeup dates will be announced next week.

* Radford City Schools As of Friday, classes will meet Monday. Exams will start Monday, Jan. 29. The teacher workday scheduled for Feb. 2 has been changed to Feb. 5.

* Giles County Schools No information was available.

* Floyd County Schools No information was available.
