Services: Suzanne Dennison and her husband, Mark, who are residents of Blacksburg, opened My School Preschool in Radford because, as Suzanne Dennison said, "Radford seemed to need something like this." They have tried to make their business unique by providing infant and toddler care. They also try to offer a positive learning environment for the children. "We want to be more than day care baby sitters. ... We want to provide a place where they can grow emotionally," Suzanne Dennison said.

The business hires staff members who have education and experience in the child-care field. Criminal history and reference checks are done on each employee. Suzanne Dennison has more than 10 years experience teaching, directing and working with children, and she has a degree in child development. Mark Dennison is a licensed marriage and family counselor. They are the parents of three children.
