For about 40 minutes Monday night, Radford looked like a ghost town.
Most of the town lost power at 8:13 p.m. after equipment at the Claytor Lake dam failed, said Glenda Wohlford, spokesman for American Electric Power.
Crews switched to an alternate source and restored the city's power at 8:51 p.m., she said.
Wohlford said there was no way to tell whether the equipment failure was related to the recent snow storm.
