ALLIANCE DIRECTOR DECISION PLANNED BY MARCH 1

The New River Valley Economic Development Alliance will begin interviewing applicants for its directorship early next month.

The Alliance received 56 applications as of Monday, the deadline. Alliance President Barry Evans said the applications came from throughout the country, though most were from within the state.

"I was real pleased, very pleased with the caliber of resumes," he said.

The Alliance board of directors will begin whittling down the list at its Jan. 23 meeting. Finalists will be interviewed in early February, with a final decision on a new director by March 1, Evans said.
