The town of Blacksburg needs your help in creating a logo for its bicentennial celebration in 1998.
The logo design, which must be delivered to the town by 5 p.m. Monday, should focus on the evolution of the town from frontier days to modern times. The logo, which will be copyrighted, will be used for vehicle decals and on clothing, commemorative items and publications.
The competition is open to anyone who works, resides or attends school in Montgomery County. Deliberations will be made from Jan. 23 to Jan. 31. The town will announce the winner (or winners) on Feb. 15.
The winner will get a $100 savings bond. If multiple entries are chosen, a $50 savings bond will be awarded to each person whose design is used.
All entries must be submitted on a 12-inch-by -12-inch art board. The logo design, which must be black and white, has to measure 6 inches by 6 inches.
