And the honorary Oscars go to ... Kirk Douglas and Chuck Jones.
Both will collect the gold-plated statues during the March 25 awards ceremony, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Wednesday.
The Oscar has eluded Douglas, who has made scores of films and has been nominated three times for best leading actor. The actor, 79, is being honored for ``50 years as a creative and moral force in the motion picture community,'' the academy said.
Jones has created cartoon characters ``whose animated lives have brought joy to our real ones for more than half a century,'' the academy said.
The 83-year-old animator's creations include Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote, Pepe LePew, the Road Runner and Elmer Fudd.
Dick Cavett is calling it quits: He has decided not to renew his option to continue his 6-year-old cable talk show.
Cavett, a ``Tonight'' show writer-turned-standup comedian before he got his first talk show, did not elaborate on his decision and made no public statement.
``We will miss the wit, intelligence and thoughtfulness that Dick Cavett has brought to our prime-time talk lineup and we wish him well in his new endeavors,'' CNBC Senior Vice President Chet Collier said.
Cavett, 59, had a late-night talk show on ABC from 1969 until 1975. From 1977 to 1982, his talk show aired nightly on public television.
