BLACKSBURG CHAMBER TO VISIT RICHMOND NEXT WEEK

The old maxim is that legislating, like sausage-making, is something one doesn't necessarily wish to witness firsthand.

Greater Blacksburg Chamber of Commerce members and others will find out for themselves next week.

The chamber's Governmental Affairs Committee is sponsoring an all-day trip Wednesday to visit the Virginia General Assembly.

The trip includes meals and bus rides to and from, a group photo with Gov. George Allen, visits to committee meetings and Senate and House sessions and office visits with the region's legislators. The cost is $90 for chamber members and $110 for nonmembers.
