WHO, WHEN & WHERE

March rescheduled

A march in recognition of the Dr. Martin Luther King holiday, postponed from last Monday, will be held today, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Poff Federal Building, 215 Franklin Road S.W., Roanoke.

The march will proceed to St. Paul United Methodist Church, Fifth Street, for a noon service.

The event, sponsored by Concerned Citizens for Justice U.S.A., will march for jobs, justice and peace.

Orchestra rehearsal

The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of conductor finalist Leslie B. Dunner, will open its Sunday afternoon rehearsal to the public.

The rehearsal is scheduled for 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the Roanoke Civic Center Auditorium. The musicians will be preparing for the Monday night performance of music by Brahms, Stavinsky and Copland.

Following the rehearsal, composer-in-residence Margaret Brouwer will host a question-and-answer session with the conductor and symphony members.

The orchestra requests a $1 donation. Children under 6 are admitted free.

Ferrum exhibit

``The Glory of the Arts in Tsarist Russia,'' featuring several cultural events, will be held Tuesday in Ferrum College's Sigmon Recital Hall.

Piano duo Barbara and Gerhardt Suhrstedt and Russian-language students from the college will present a free multimedia concert of Russian music, poetry and art, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Poetry reading

Poet Luanne Keener will read from her work Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Radford University's Flossie Martin Art Gallery.

Keener's poetry has received several poetry and been published in many literary journals.

A reception and book signing will follow the reading.
