Two Wythe County men were charged with murder Sunday after authorities found the body of a 17-year-old Pulaski County boy in a remote area near the Wythe-Pulaski county line.
Authorities had not provided identification of the victim Sunday night, because some of his relatives had not been reached for notification of his death. The cause of death was also unknown. The body was taken to the medical examiner's office in Roanoke for an autopsy.
Jason Dennis Hibbs, 19, and Eric Dwayne Ball, 20, both of Max Meadows, were arrested and charged with abduction and first-degree murder. Authorities said a third person, a juvenile, is also being investigated in connection with the case and might be charged.
The Wythe County Sheriff's Office found the body by using tracking dogs. The boy had been missing since Thursday, but family members had not notified the Sheriff's Office until the weekend, an office spokesman said.
Investigators said it appeared that the murder happened elsewhere and the body was dumped where it was found.
