Leighton Mason scored 33 points to lead Chilhowie to an 89-79 overtime victory over George Wythe in a Hogoheegee District boys' basketball game on Saturday.
The Warriors came up with two quick steals to start overtime, then hit their free throws to beat the Maroons.
Twelve of Mason's points came on 3-pointers. Jerrod Thompson scored 17 points for Chilhowie, and Earl Allen added 15.
The biggest lead either team had in regulation was five points. Wythe had a chance to win it in the fourth quarter, but Freddie Moses' running shot in the lane rolled off the rim at the buzzer.
Brian Barnes led the Maroons with 26 points. Ted Ring scored 12 and Moses finished with 11.
