Frank Beamer, Virginia Tech's football coach, will be the guest speaker Jan.30 for the Roanoke Valley Sports Club's dinner at the Salem Civic Center.
Beamer will speak at 7 p.m., following a 5:45 social and 6:15 buffet meal. The date has been moved back one night, after Tech's snowed-out basketball game with St.Joseph's was rescheduled for Monday. Sports club officials said those who have sent in reservations need not reconfirm their plans.
Reservations are $10 per member and $20 per guest, with guests receiving automatic membership in the club for attending. Reservations can be made by calling club board member Dan Wooldridge at 389-7373, or by mail to: Roanoke Valley Sports Club, P.O. Box 1112, Salem, 24153.
Wooldridge said George Welsh, Virginia's football coach, has made an oral commitment to speak at the next meeting, scheduled in late February.
