Dear Neighbors:
We had a chimney fire that threatened our home Dec. 28, 1995, after dark.
Our call to 911 resulted in immediate reaction by three county departments: Mason's Cove, Fort Lewis and Hollins, using six fire engines and the Mason's Cove rescue squad.
What a wonderful group of professionals and volunteers! Not only was the fire immediately put out, it was stopped short of attic entry with a minimum of water and smoke damage. As the fire had to be approached by the attic, equipment and personnel traffic were required inside our home. This was accomplished with an amazing lack of damage to furnishings and carpets.
We wish to thank each and every person involved in this call of distress. You are the greatest and we were very lucky only because of you!
