Play auditions

Auditions for four male roles in William Inge's Pulitzer Prize-winner, ``Picnic,'' will be held Feb. 5 and 6 at 7 p.m. in the Thoresen Theatre at Randolph-Macon Woman's College.

The roles include two men in their early 20s, a teen-ager about 17 or 18 and a man approaching middle age.

The play will be performed March 28-April 1.

Political lecture

Time magazine correspondent Jeffrey Birnbaum will discuss the 1996 presidential race from ``inside Washington'' Monday at 8 p.m. in Lynchburg College's Hopwood Hall Auditorium.

Birnbaum is the author of several books, including his latest, ``The Lobbyists,'' which is about a group of top corporate lobbyists. It was a 1992 bestseller.

Prior to joining Time, Birnbaum worked in the New York bureau of the Wall Street Journal.

Monday's event is free and open to the public.
