THE SEASON IS OPEN FOR STRANGE JOB TITLES

In the next few decades, computers will filter into most aspects of just about every job, and new jobs will be created by the rapidly changing technology.

For those students already aiming for those cutting-edge jobs, here are some potential - and actual - job descriptions, according to David Porush, a professor of communications at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York:

Webmaster: designs and edits home pages on the World Wide Web

Infostylist: will advise corporations about on-line marketing strategies

Sysop: systems operator responsible for programming and trouble shooting

Web surfer: corporate fact finder who acts as a reference librarian for the World Wide Web

Spammer: electronic junk mailer

Intellectual properties lawyer: interprets the laws that were originally intended for the print media

Data cop: maintains system security

Net traffic controller: ensures prompt messaging and smooth transition among sites

Web account exec.: the legions hired to sell all the new products, services and systems that come with this new technology.
