Manti Venable, an All-Timesland football running back and the leading scorer for the Martinsville High School boys' basketball team, has been suspended from the squad for disciplinary reasons for the rest of the season.
Venable, a junior, was averaging 16.9 points a game when he was suspended last week. School officials refused to give a reason for Venable's suspension.
In the fall, Venable rushed for 1,402 yards and was third in Timesland in rushing. Venable was a second-team choice on the Associated Press All-Group AA football team.
