GLENVAR BREEZES PAST NORTH CROSS

James Williams scored 15 points and Corey Willis added 13 as Glenvar routed North Cross 79-40 in a non-district boys' game Monday at Glenvar.

Glenvar took a 17-12 lead and coasted to victory. The Highlanders outrebounded North Cross 41-34 and forced 27 turnovers.

Forward Jeff Baetz scored 11 points for North Cross and center Jon Mull added 10.

Girls

Franklin County 51, Patrick Henry 47: A dismal night at the free-throw line doomed the Patriots' chances for a second consecutive victory.

Patrick Henry, which ended a 65-game losing streak with a victory over the Eagles on Friday, made only eight of 36 free throws in losing a Roanoke Valley District game.

Franklin County (2-11, 1-6) was led by Kelli Preston's 22 points. Penee Clayborne had 10.

Patrick Henry (1-12, 1-6) got 14 points from Carrie Moore and 11 from Keeda Hale.
