Police have arrested a man in connection with a robbery at the Craig Avenue Superette in Salem last week.
Ronnie Lee Jefferson, 40, was arrested Friday and charged with the Jan. 22 robbery, said Salem Police Sgt. D.R. Divers.
A clerk at the store told police that the robber bought a single beer; when she opened the register to give him change, the man told her to give him the rest of the money.
The man threatened the clerk but did not display a weapon, police said.
Police say Jefferson is a suspect in three previous crimes in Salem. Police said Jefferson lived in the Salem area, but his current address was unknown.
He has been charged with stealing a car on Dec. 19 in the 300 block of Chapman Street.
Police also have charged Jefferson with breaking into a house and stealing a car in the 200 block of Union Street.
Divers said that because an investigation is continuing he could not comment on what connected Jefferson to the crimes.
