Habitat House at 1216 Cleveland Ave. S.W. has been completed by volunteers from six Episcopal congregations.
PEOPLE
Willie Purdee, minister to youth at Edgewood Christian Church for the past two years, has left the staff. He and his family are moving to Proctorville, Ohio, where he will continue his education.
SPIRITUALITY EDUCATION
Seminars for Christian Living, a series of midweek programs for family leaders, will begin Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Shenandoah Baptist Church, 6520 Williamson Road. A nursery will be open.
The subjects will include: Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing His Will; As for Me and My House; A Biblical Exploration on Becoming a Godly Wife; and The Mind of Christ. Call 366-2431 to register.
The Parables of Jesus, a six-week study for the community, has begun at Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, 2138 McVitty Road S.W. Sessions begin at 6:30 p.m. after an optional meal, which costs $2.

Dreams, Past Lives and Soul, the first in a series of four programs sponsored by the Eckankar spirituality society of the Roanoke Valley, is scheduled for Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. The program will be held at the Roanoke County Library, 3131 Electric Road S.W. Call 389-8043 for more information.
MUSICAL EVENTS
Christian Karaoke will be featured Feb. 16 at the Praise Cafe, a youth lounge operating out of the ballroom of the Sheraton Inn-Airport. Activities start at 7 p.m. A cover charge of $3 admits persons to the smoke- and alcohol-free club. The charge is waived for those who order a $9 buffet meal from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The program is sponsored by radio Spirit FM. Call 774-9798 for more information.
New Grace, a Southern gospel group, will perform Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Woodmen of the World Building, 2306 Peters Creek Road N.W.
The Victors, a Roanoke gospel group, will present a program Sunday at 6 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church, 3706 Peters Creek Road N.W. An offering will be taken.
SPECIAL SERVICES
North Valley Seventh-day Adventists, who meet in the facilities of St. Paul Lutheran Church at 4904 Peters Creek Road N.W., will hear the pastor of that church, the Rev. Joseph Crowther, at their service Saturday. Worship will begin at 11 a.m., and a luncheon will be held afterward.
