Grace Note to play
WYTHEVILLE - Grace Note, a Floyd County musical group, will play in a coffee-house setting Friday at Wytheville Community College for pre-Valentine's Day entertainment.
The doors at the Grayson Hall Commons will open at 8 p.m. Admission is $2.
The three Grace Note musicians play folk, soft rock and New Age and jazz. Singer and song-writer Bob Grubel plays the keyboards, Tom Williams percussion and guitar, and Martin Scudder, the violin. They have played in clubs throughout Virginia and recently produced their first release, "I Always Dreamed of Flying."
The college's Cultural Affairs Committee will provide coffee, sweets and other refreshments for sale. Small tables with candles will be set up to provide atmosphere, and space will be available for dancing. Further information is available by calling 223-4818.
Mental health meeting
CHRISTIANSBURG - The Alliance for the Mentally Ill of the NRV will hold its monthly meeting in the Mental Health Conference Room of the Mental Health Association on Saturday at 10 a.m.
